Simon was born in London and moved to Norfolk when
he was 8 years old, but his interest in drums began at the age
of 6 when he was chosen to play maracas in a school concert. Since
then, he and drums have been inseparable. By the age of 15 he
was doing over 50 gigs a year, and Simon turned pro when he was
18. He began teaching drums in his old high school and continued
gigging regularly with various bands.
Since then Simon has taught hundreds of pupils from ages 5 to 55, and has notched up over 1000 public performances all over the UK. He has also recorded numerous albums, demos and EP's for a variety of local bands.
Simon met Fred Hollis in 2006 when they were playing together in a professional function band. Also in 2006, Simon met Oli at a Blues jam in Norwich. The rest, as they say, is history.
As a drummer, Simon's influences include Gilson Lavis, Ronnie Tutt, Terry Bozzio, Billy Ward and Gavin Harrison. His other musical heroes include Stevie Wonder, Ben Folds, Faith No More, The Beach Boys and They Might Be Giants.
